At MI Films we have a passion for the art of visual story telling. Fortunately, for our motion picture and broadcast television clients, this passion has created an obsession over the gear that produces these images. Our headfirst leap into the world of HD and Digital Cinema cameras and cutting edge lenses is a testament to our love of the cutting edge. We enjoy meeting regularly with the designers and engineers of not yet introduced equipment and technologies. But, after all these years, we are still devoted to and look after that tape based Varicam like others might a vintage Ferrari.
Since its beginnings in the nineties, MI Films has held to a simple idea. We thought that DoP’s, cinematographers, camera and lighting professionals, and producers might appreciate using our gear if they knew we obsessed over it just like when we shot with it ourselves. That idea, started with one camera and humble beginnings in Dallas, Texas. Now it has blossomed to locations in Phoenix – Scottsdale, Arizona, Denver, Colorado, dozens of cameras, grip trucks and all the necessary support to go along. Our obsession compels us to great lengths. Whether it’s meeting that last minute change for a sunrise shot or fielding a Saturday night phone call to send gear across the country, MI Films is there for you. It also drives us to support our local film schools and their students; a lifeblood of the industry. This culture of service to our current and future creative professionals is what we term Beyond the Rental.
That one simple idea from our beginnings, is still just as relevant today. Our clients rave about receiving the best possible equipment in the best possible condition. This has only led to more clients needing more equipment that we can obsess over. So, thank you for producing those incredible visuals with our gear.
